SUMMARY:Green Drinks: The Future of the Toilet: The Good\, the Bad\, and the Ugly
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an interactive conversation about what happens when we flush and possibilities for a different future in our bathrooms.\n\nCome learn about possibilities for change in our bathrooms and alternatives that have been experienced and considered from experts in their field! Participants will learn about some innovative ways people around the country are thinking about the stuff our bodies make (through images\, videos\, and conversations)\, and\, if they are so moved\, participants can share their experiences of how people talk about this potentially sensitive topic. FlushED is a National Science Foundation-funded team based in Winston Salem and Boston.\n\nBetsy Towns a member of an art\, science\, and communications-design team  FlushED\, working to discover ways to raise curiosity and interest in changes to wastewater practices that may reach our bathrooms in the coming decades.  Betsy is a professor of Art History and Creative Practice at University of North Carolina School of the Arts\, and a ceramic sculptor whose work centers on the relationship between art\, science\, and literature. Betsy works as a principal investigator on a US National Science Foundation grant to communicate alternative possibilities for managing the stuff our bodies make.\n\n \n\n5:30 p.m.: Grab and drink and network with like-minded locals.\n\n6:00 p.m.: Enjoy the presentation and learn something new!\n\n \n\nHendersonville Green Drinks is presented by Conserving Carolina\, MountainTrue and Trailside Brewing Co. Come to Green Drinks to learn more about current environmental issues\, have relevant discussions\, and meet with like-minded people. This is a monthly event and everyone is welcome. You don't have to drink at Green Drinks\, just come and listen. Trailside Brewing Co. offers beer\, wine\, cider\, prosecco and non-alcoholic beverages.
