Position Summary
The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care and clinical support to providers and the clinical team.
The RN will perform nursing assessments, assist with patient visits and procedures, administer medications
and treatments as ordered, provide patient education, respond to patient calls and electronic messages,
assist with care coordination, and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical
record.
The RN will work closely with providers, CMAs, front office staff, and management to ensure patients
receive safe, efficient, compassionate, and personalized care.
The primary work location will be PrimeHealth Hendersonville. Because PrimeHealth is a growing
organization with multiple locations and evolving staffing needs, the RN may occasionally be asked to float
to another PrimeHealth location to provide clinical coverage and support. Advance notice will be provided
whenever reasonably possible.
Essential Responsibilities
Patient Care
Perform nursing assessments and obtain accurate patient histories.
Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical information.
Assess patients and communicate significant findings to the provider.
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments as ordered.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
Perform wound care and other nursing treatments within scope of practice.
Assist with care coordination and follow-up.
Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly notify the provider.
Provide compassionate, respectful, patient-centered care.
Telephone Triage & Patient Communication
Respond to patient telephone calls and electronic messages.
Triage patient concerns according to established protocols and scope of practice.
Communicate test results and provider instructions as directed.
Coordinate referrals and follow-up care.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and team members.
Maintain professional, timely, and compassionate communication with patients.
Medication Management
Administer medications and injections according to provider orders.
Assist with medication reconciliation.
Maintain accurate medication documentation.
Monitor medication-related concerns and communicate appropriately with the provider.
Follow medication storage, handling, documentation, and safety requirements.
Athena EMR & Documentation
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient documentation.
Complete assigned Athena EMR work queues/buckets daily.
Document telephone calls, patient messages, medications, treatments, procedures, and follow-up.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Complete documentation in a timely manner to support patient care and billing.
Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance.
Follow PrimeHealth documentation and clinical workflow standards.
Patient Education
Educate patients regarding medications, treatments, disease management, preventive care, and
provider instructions.
Reinforce treatment plans and follow-up instructions.
Encourage patients to participate actively in their healthcare.
Provide clear and understandable education appropriate to the patient's needs.
Safety & Infection Prevention
Follow OSHA, CDC, infection prevention, and clinic safety requirements.
Follow hand hygiene and PPE procedures.
Follow sharps safety and blood/biohazard procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
Participate in emergency response procedures.
Report patient safety concerns and incidents promptly.
Maintain required certifications and training.
Follow all PrimeHealth policies and procedures.
Clinical Office Support
Maintain and stock exam rooms.
Assist with clinical supply inventory.
Notify management of supply or equipment needs.
Maintain clinical equipment according to clinic procedures.
Assist with opening and closing clinical areas as assigned.
Support efficient patient flow.
Work collaboratively with the entire practice team.
Floating to Other PrimeHealth Locations
As a member of the PrimeHealth team, the RN may occasionally be asked to provide clinical coverage at
another PrimeHealth location based on staffing needs, provider schedules, patient volume, vacations, or
other operational requirements.
Responsibilities when floating may include:
Providing the same high-quality nursing care at another PrimeHealth location.
Supporting providers and clinical staff at the assigned location.
Adapting to different clinic workflows while following PrimeHealth standards.
Assisting with patient care, triage, medications, procedures, and documentation.
Maintaining patient privacy and safety at all locations.
Working cooperatively with the team at the assigned location.
Assisting with opening or closing responsibilities when assigned.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between PrimeHealth locations as needed are
required.
Travel between locations will be based on operational needs, and advance notice will be provided whenever
reasonably possible. Mileage reimbursement will be provided when applicable according to company policy.
Qualifications
Required
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current BLS certification.
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Ability to work effectively with providers and multidisciplinary team members.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between PrimeHealth locations when needed.
Preferred
Previous outpatient, primary care, concierge medicine, or physician-office experience.
Athena EMR experience.
Telephone triage experience.
Medication administration and injection experience.
Care coordination experience.
Experience working in a growing medical practice.
Experience working across multiple clinic locations.
